BRVGS World History Students Reflect on DC War Memorials

BRVGS World History students visited Washington, DC last week to see memorials to World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War and the Holocaust.  Students took pictures and reflected on the features of each memorial, and posted those pictures and reflections into a website.   You can see the students' photos and thoughts at: https://sites.google.com/a/brvgs.k12.va.us/brvgs-war-memorials-spring-2017/home

BRVGS Adds UVa "Explorations in Health Care" course for 2017-18

With many of our BRVGS students picturing themselves as health care professionals in the future, and many other interested in knowing about health care careers, BRVGS is pleased to announce the addition of an online, 3-credit course from the University of Virginia called "Explorations in Health Care," which will be available for BRVGS juniors and seniors in the Fall of 2017.

This course will introduce students to many aspects of careers and practices in health care, including medicine, nursing, and physical therapy, and "...explores the educational requirements and job responsibilities of a wide range of healthcare providers." To review a draft syllabus for the course, click on Uva Explorations in Health Care Draft Syllabus.

This new course is one of over a dozen online Advanced Placement and Dual Enrollment offerings from BRVGS for 2017-18.  These courses are available to all BRVGS juniors and seniors, and BRVGS pays for full tuition and fees for all online courses.  To review all BRVGS online course offerings for 2017-18, please click on BRVGS Program of Studies 2017-18.  Students have recently received an email with instructions on how to register for the course(s) of their choice for next year.
